Skin Lightening
Even Skin Tone, Clinically Formulated
Medical-grade brightening and skin lightening treatments developed by licensed aesthetician Maxine Dean to fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.
The Science
The Science of Skin Brightening & Lightening
Hyperpigmentation — dark spots, melasma, post-acne marks, and uneven skin tone — is caused by overactive melanin production triggered by UV exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation, and skin injury. Medical-grade skin lightening products work by interrupting melanin synthesis at multiple points in the pathway, delivering faster and more lasting results than single-ingredient drugstore treatments.
Maxine Dean's brightening collection combines vitamin C, niacinamide, and exfoliating acids in clinically effective concentrations. These ingredients work at different stages of the pigmentation cycle — inhibiting melanin production, accelerating the shedding of pigmented cells, and protecting against new UV-triggered discoloration. The result is a visibly brighter, more even complexion within 4–8 weeks.
Key Ingredients
Ingredients That Fade Dark Spots
Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid)
Inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production, while simultaneously neutralizing UV-generated free radicals that trigger new dark spots. The most clinically studied brightening ingredient available.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
Blocks the transfer of melanin from melanocytes to skin cells, visibly reducing dark spots and evening skin tone. Also strengthens the skin barrier and reduces redness, making it ideal for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Glycolic Acid (AHA)
Accelerates cell turnover to shed pigmented surface cells faster, revealing brighter skin beneath. Also enhances the penetration of brightening actives like vitamin C and niacinamide.
Kojic Acid
A natural tyrosinase inhibitor derived from fungi that reduces melanin production in existing dark spots. Particularly effective for melasma and sun-induced hyperpigmentation when combined with vitamin C.

How to Use
The Medical Aesthetician's Brightening Routine
Brightening Cleanser
Start with brightening actives from the first step. Massage gently for 60 seconds to activate the vitamin C and exfoliating acids.
Vitamin C Serum
Apply 3–4 drops to face and neck while skin is still slightly damp. Vitamin C absorbs best at a slightly acidic pH.
Vitamin C Moisturizer
Lock in the serum and provide a brightening base for SPF. Layering vitamin C in both serum and moisturizer maximizes brightening efficacy.
UVB SPF 45 Sunscreen
Critical for brightening routines. UV exposure is the primary trigger for new dark spots — SPF prevents new discoloration while actives fade existing marks.
Acne Clear Pads (3–4x per week)
Glycolic acid pads accelerate the shedding of pigmented cells. Use at night after cleansing, 3–4 times per week.
Everyday Brightening Kit Serum
Niacinamide serum at night blocks melanin transfer and strengthens the skin barrier while you sleep.
